For the first big chunk of content on Steep game, we deliver a new entire world : The Mighty Denali coming with The Alaska.
Like for the Alps, I was in charge of the world art direction of the game, during 3 months of production.
My role was to :
- design & integrate all the different ambiences from start, I’ve set in engine all lighting, shadows & all atmospheric aspects
- improve & create all the terrain PBR materials and textures ( different type of snows, ices and rocks ) thanks to Allegorithmic Substance Designer and shader development for some specific props.
- create some specific shaders ( northern lights )
- design & integrate the outskirt beyond the game zone, to ensure visually an elegant and smooth transition
- supervise in game vegetation ( trees, grasses ) done by the team
